Step 1 – Decide On Your Bronzer

Step 1 – Decide On Your Bronzer | How To Apply Bronzer: Breaking Down Your Makeup Routine | apply bronzer for contour
There are different types of bronzers out there for you to choose from. Moreover, this choice is reliant on what you want to achieve for your overall look! There are many great matte bronzers. However, if you want to add a little shine to your look, you might want to try a shimmer bronzer. And in terms of consistency, bronzers can come in either powder or cream form. Additionally, if you have oily skin, you might want to avoid oil-based bronzers. You should also consider where and why you are getting made up. Make sure you go for a long-lasting bronzer for all-day events to keep your look intact!

Color is also important. Generally, your bronzer should be around 2 shades darker than your skin tone. Additionally, this should be warm in hue. To learn more about bronzers, you might want to check out this article that explains what bronzers are.

Step 2 – Pick The Right Bronzer Brush

Now that you’ve decided on your bronzer, you should also make sure you pick out the ideal bronzer brush to get the right effect! Moreover, the quality of your brush is important in achieving the right look. If you want to apply bronzer to contour, you might want to go for more precise and clean lines. Simple bronzing, on the other hand, requires more subtle pigmentation.

There are three main things you must look out for when choosing your bronzer brush:

  1.  Synthetic Brushes – These are best for bronzing because they are usually much softer, denser, and have the capacity to pick up more product for more pigmentation.
  2. Angled – It is best to use an angled brush for bronzing to reach the outer edges of the face!
  3. Density – Make sure you pick out a dense brush for effective application without going too overboard!

Step 3 – Begin Your Makeup Routine

Don’t go straight to applying your bronzer! There are a few more things in your makeup routine that must come first. Start by washing your face with the right cleanser to start with a clean bare face. Following this, it is always best to apply your daily moisturizer. After this, you can go on and start applying concealer to your problem areas. Follow this up with a layer of foundation to give yourself an even canvas to work with. Make sure to blend your foundation well and to apply it to your neck for a more natural look.

Now that you have your foundation on, you may now apply your bronzer! Moreover, it is important to note that it is best to apply bronzer prior to applying blush.

Step 4 – Swirl Then Tap

To collect bronzer for application, swirl your brush on the bronzer pan then tap off the excess back into the pan. It is best to build up the bronzer on your face light layer by light layer instead of a single dense dark layer. Furthermore, this technique makes the bronzer much easier to control.

Step 5 – Apply to Your Forehead and the Edges of Your Face

It is best to apply bronzer by drawing a big 3 on each side of your face. Start it off with your forehead and along your hairline, then bring the brush to your temples and then pull it back to your cheekbone. After this, sweep the brush across your cheek and back to your ear then pull it back across your jawline.

Step 6 – Apply to Your Cheeks

Suck your cheeks in to make a fish face. Doing this would help you find the apples of your cheeks. However, you could also opt to smile in order to find where to apply your blush and bronzer. Once you’ve found your apples, you may then apply the bronzer at an angle across your cheek. Start at the apples of your cheek and brush it up and toward your hairline.

Step 7 – Apply to Your Jawline

Bring your jaw out a little more by adding some bronzer! Doing this would give your face a little more definition. In addition to this, bringing emphasis to your jawline would also provide a little bit of a slimming effect!

Step 8 – Apply Lightly to Chin, Nose, and Neck Areas

Following the major bronzer application points, it is also a good idea to lightly dust some bronzer onto the high points of your face. Moreover, these points are also the areas of the face that get the most sunlight. Given this, lightly apply your bronzer in between your eyebrows, down the bridge of your nose, and on your chin.

Step 9 – Blend

Finish up your new bronzy look by taking a clean and fluffy brush to buff and blend your bronzer. Doing this would eliminate any streaks or lines that look unnatural. Don’t forget to blend your neck area!
